Love, love, love.

Love was all over the place on the day Phil and Cindy were finally joined as one. It appeared not only on their faces, but also in the eyes and in the heartwarming smiles of all their families and friends.

Phil and Cindy flew all the way from Papua to the Island of The Gods to tie the knot and chose the chapel of the newly built Mulia Hotel as their venue. Although the place was still an ongoing project, it didn’t reduce the sense of happiness that filled it. One of the catchiest moments for me was the gate crashing. Cindy’s bridesmaids really went out of their ways to challenge Phil and his groomsmen. They prepared food and drinks that was rather unthinkable to me. Personally, I don't think that I have what it takes to touch it, let alone put it anywhere near my mouth, but if the meaning of gate crashing was to experience the tastes of marriage, I’m sure that Phil who passed with flying colors, will go through this marriage just fine! And that’s always a great thing. So, Phil - yeah, you're the man!  

Their wedding vows, both the bride’s and the groom’s, moved every hearts in the room. It was a beautiful moment to witness. And, if you’re watching this, you’re in for an exceptionally moving speech, and also the most beautiful first dance I have ever seen. 

Congratulations again Phil and Cindy. May your marriage be filled with love and more love.

Celebrate the dreamer in you. Answer the big “why not?” questions. Always capture new ideas that encourage you to press on regardless. Expand on those magical callings that give your heart wings. There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly. So keep dreaming, creating, and expanding.

It's in the details. It's what I always remind myself when I am stepping into a bride's home in the early morning to document what would be the most important day of her life. It's these little details that tell me and everyone else about what was important ito them because it's something that they deemed precious enough to be a part of their special day.

Sometimes we get lucky enough to meet clients who become our travel buddies, and my wife and I have been so lucky to travel around the US with this cheerful couple last spring. 

When people ask me about where they should have their pre-wedding portraits taken, I would suggest them to go back to the place that holds most of their memory together. But when we’re talking concepts, well… that can be anything. My absolute favorite would be to do shots around something that reflects the couples’ personalities.

There is no greater feeling than to witness your long-time childhood friend takes a huge step in life and ties the knot.

Ronald and I have been friends for more than 10 years. In fact, he's the one who got me started with the whole infatuation with video editing. Back in the days of highschool, we used to make our own Indie movies, a better quality home video so-to-speak. Then we'd sell it to our friends for about IDR 15,000 each. It was a pretty great side business to add to our pocket money. After that, I went on to master video editing and I am now working for one of the leading brands in wedding videography, and if I look back, I have Ronald to thank for all that. 

Watching him finally tie the knot with his girlfriend of 6 years was so heartwarming for me and my family. We flew in to Singapore just to see him get married. It was a joy to be a part of the day where he spoke his lifelong vow to the woman of his choice, a wonderful cheerful and caring woman. And they are lucky to have found each other.

Happy wedding once again my friend! Here is to a bright future filled with many babies!

I realize that relationships are messy. It requires lots of patience, hard work, sacrifice. The games take a step up when two people from two different backgrounds come together and decide to build the rest of their lives together. The stakes are higher, the challenges are bigger and it’s an entirely different ballgame. But in the midst of all that, there is underlying beauty to be uncovered, because the reward is so much greater.

I remember the days I used to have sleepovers with my girlfriends. We would choose one cozy room to spend the night, put on our pajamas and our pink fluffy slippers and chat all night about anything and everything over cookies and ice cream. It was one of my loveliest memories growing up. While we’re chatting away, we’d talk about various topics, mostly random. But one hot topic that would always keep coming up no matter what season of lives we were in would be: boys.

When people ask me where they should be shooting their prewedding session, I would most likely recommend them to go back to the place that holds most of their story together. There is a familiar and sentimental feeling that will pop up every time they gaze their eyes on a landmark of a place that witnessed the beginning of their journey together, and because that’s what pre-weddings are partly about, going back to that memorable place will always be a good idea.
