Kollin & Yen
vancouver memories

During my college years in Seattle, Vancouver was my favorite weekend getaway. My typical day would start with Dim Sum in the Richmond area, then all day shopping in downtown and i made sure to have a full stomach before the drive back to Seattle. So i've been looking forward to come back to Vancouver, this time my camera's itching to shoot.

Vancouver means a lot more to Kollin & Yen. Their dating memories are filled with countless moments all over the city. It's obvious why we came all the way for their portrait session. It's worth the trip :)

William & Amel
Fairy tale romance

For those of you planning a wedding, it's a must to start with a clearly defined theme. That's exactly what William & Amel did. With a theme in mind, it's almost like half the battle. Everything will fall into place, the look & feel of your wedding including the decor, invitation, music and of course your wedding dress. They even took it a step further, having their pre-wedding photos to match the 'Fairy tale romance' inspired wedding.

Thanks to Nefi (the man behind inspiring wedding decorations in town) for introducing us to Amel. After a few meetings we found out that we shot for William's sister wedding a few years back...what a small world.

So on a nice sunny day, we headed up to Jakarta's mountain getaway (Puncak) area to find a charming garden to shoot for this concept. Enjoy ;)

The Wedding
Eric & Sally

From the first time that i met this couple, i'm so looking forward to shoot their wedding. Maureen introduced me to her cousin Eric quite some time ago. I'm so excited to shoot for Sally, knowing that her taste for design and color would make this wedding one of a kind. Instead of going for hotel ballroom (which is where most weddings in Jakarta takes place), she opted for a more cozy and intimate setting at Rumah Maroko (House of Marocco). I find it unique to have a Moroccan inspired architecture in the middle of Jakarta.

Sally's is the perfect bridezilla, in a good way ;) She knows what she wants, from designing her own dress, invitation and the decor. By the way, she's the up and coming fresh decorator in town (make that Jakarta & Bali). I remember going through her design concepts and inspirations before the wedding, and instantly i knew it's gonna be fabuous. View the pics below..

The Wedding
Kelwin & Isa

Isa & Kelwin loves it grand :) Everything about this wedding has a flair of grandeur. Starting with an all time record of twelve bridesmaids & twelve groomsmen. This is my first time ever shooting with a twenty six people bridal party. Imagine a group shot!

In the early morning, Kelwin had to go through an obstacle course to pick up his bride. The bridesmaid had fun requesting Kelwin to do stuff he wouldn't normally do. Shouting at the top of his lungs, proclaiming his love for Isa is one of the many things he had to do. Of course Kelwin made sure he passes all the tests and get his bride.

The day followed by tea ceremony. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, it is the single most profitable tea serving ever!! Just kidding...he he :) Families from all over came to congratulate the happy couple, bearing gifts and well wishes.

It's a grand wedding at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place. I heard this is the the biggest ballroom in Southeast Asia! And you know what it means photographers, we'll have the best work out ever :) Shooting a big wedding takes a different approach, more photographers are needed especially during the reception, where you'll have special VIPs, waves of guests congratulating the family and of course several thousand guests mingling around the ballroom. We can't guarantee we'll be able to shoot everyone...we tend to pick and choose smiling guests.

The Wedding
Yosan & Yanuar

You remember Yosan and Yanuar from our previous post. This couple is a joy to shoot. A rollercoaster day started early with make up by Willy Wahyudi of W2 Salon. Yosan's beautiful dress done by Biyan.

How many times can I say that I LOVE shooting weddings? This one is really different.

I cried during the church ceremony, listening to the inspiring message by Pastor Jeffrey Rachmat. Then it really got to me when they thanked their parents. I imagine a lifetime of love and sacrifice that our parents have given us, for us to be who we are today. And all we can say is "thank you, mom and dad." We should say these words more often and not just on our wedding day. I feel so blessed to attend this wedding.

The wedding was held at Hotel Mulia. Nefi as always, did a lovely decor. This time it's a seating dinner. I find that guests tend to enjoy the dinner better this way. They catch up with old and new friends around the table and start a chatter throughout the night accompanied by light jazz. Music was done by the Acoustic Punch and a special performance by Ruth Sahanaya.

Jefry & Melyta
Intimate Wedding

Okay, I'm really in love with this one.

Melyta & Jefry's wedding is by far the smallest wedding party we've done. Only 40 guests were invited to this charming and intimate wedding. Jefry insisted on having the simplest wedding ever.

Melyta looks stunning in her simple and graceful wedding gown, perfect for a beach wedding. Gown was designed by PhangSanny. Amazing! Her tiara and ring pillow were custom-made by Jefry's sister-in-law Chico, all inspired by the sea. It's so pretty it looks like a mermaid's tiara. Love the detail!

Conrad Bali never fails to satisfy for small settings like these. The ceremony was held at the ever spectacular wedding chapel that overlooked the beach. Loved the short and sweet ceremony - bringing two families together.

We had quite a bit of time to spare so we decided to shoot the bride and her colorful girls (sister and sister-in-laws) all around the Conrad beach and garden.

And ah! The reception - held under the stars. So beautiful. Iwet (of HardRock FM fame) was the ever fun Master of Ceremony for the night. Music was provided by JamPiro - meaning "what time?" in Javanese :) Ever-enthusiastic friends also contributed some songs as the couple danced the night away.

Truly a memorable wedding. Love it!!!

Congratulations to you both!

This is without a doubt our couple of the year!

We attempted the challenging "50 First Dates" concept into their theme. Stories of their dates doing movies, dinners, walking int the park, lazing aroiund the weekends, grocery shopping, self-photos, lunches, playgrounds. We are madly in love with their photos! It really shows in every shot.

So very Axioo ;)

Wedding Video

Hi hi everybody! ^_^ Ivan Mario here back in action. Woohoo!!!

I just wanna do a quick share of Adrian and Angela's wedding clip. Did this some months back. But the video team did a great job at putting the clip together. It's time to let this wild cat out of the bag. Hahaha!

Did their wedding in Mulia. And as far as I can remember, the pre-wedding was a quick one in one location in Jakarta. I'll get back to you If I remember it. Haha!

See ya!!! ^_^

The Wedding
Michael & Caroline

Michael is an old friend of mine back in my college days in Seattle. Time really flies! I'm so happy that he's finally found his bride Caroline. They really complete each other, building an exciting F&B business.

Tiffany is the color of the day. Gosh, I so love Caroline's wedding dress!! So unique and classic. Loved her hairpiece too.

The bridesmaids & groomsmen add their color to make this wedding so fabulous to shoot.

Hey if you loved these shots, wait up. You'll love their Bali wedding even more ;) Stay tuned!

Mike & Dyke

Hi everyone! Ivan again here ^_^

I've been wanting to put these up for quite a while. Mike & Dyke are one of the sweetest couples I've had so much fun shooting. Especially on our pre-wedding stint in Macau and HongKong. And their wedding was no less whacky!

I'll be back to fill in more details right here on this blog, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on these great shots. Later!!! ^_^
