I always admire couples with a story, one of a time a distance and hardship but in the end they both made it anyway. Denny and Angela is one of them. They met for the first time in Melbourne Australia where they were studying and their story went on from there. Then they were separated by distance as Denny came back home and Angela stayed. Year later, Angela came home for a short period of time while waiting for her Fashion Business Studies program to begin in Malaysia. Again, they were separated by distance. But miles apart didn’t stop them from always coming back to each other.

We first met Kent and Shau Fun over dinner one day in Singapore and we hit it off instantly! This couple is amazing! They are fun and cool and madly in love with each other. They did a shoot in Melbourne with Ivan (an amazing album!) A few weeks later, Shau Fun did a beauty portrait with Fen (another beautiful album!) and then we did another shoot for them in Jakarta. These two are just so inspiring that we wanted to create something casual from daily routine and turn it into something beautiful.

The greatest love stories don’t always have a stellar beginning. In fact, most of it began with a situation less than ideal and through some exciting turn of events, the couple created their own happy ending. They don’t usually meet at a local coffee shop and fall madly in love with each other. They don’t accidently bump into each other at the corner of the street and realize that they’ve spent their whole lives just waiting for each other. And they sure don’t hear each other sing and want to finish each other’s duets for the rest of eternity.

I can tell you a lot of stories about Yoevan and Paulina that will make you go “Awwwww…” But I’m just going to tell you my favorite one about them today.

Let me tell you a little something about guys: when we like something we focus. I’m not just talking about when it comes to liking a girl and focus on summing up a strategy to get her to like us back. I’m talking hobbies. Some of us like (what girls would find weird, such as) toys and video games and others like golf or football or basketball or other kinds of sports (which girls find equally weird). But I think what we guys have in common is that when we like something, we “invest” our time (and expenses) into that hobby.

Do you remember the beginning of your relationship? Every waking hour you long to meet with that one special person, to get to know her better, to just be with her. You find reasons to see her or talk to her, and you jump at the chance to take her out. You go out of your way to deliver new and exciting experiences. You set up romantic surprises and take her to impressive places. You would do anything to tell her how much you adore her to win her heart. Then you are married. And then you think that she is eternally yours and that the chase is over.

I’ve got to say, this was one of the most memorable trips I’ve had in a while. India is so full of surprises! When Eko and Veronika told me that they wanted Jaipur and Udaipur as their pre-wedding destination, I was made rather confused. Of all the places in the world, why did they want to choose this place? But after this trip, all that changed. I was totally captivated by the beauty and the rich history of the Rajasthan region in India, and that includes Jaipur and Udaipur. Would I go back there again? I say YES in a heartbeat!

Here's a little surprise for Aldwin & Sera who are tying the knot today in Paris. By the time this is published, they would be getting ready, looking their best and about to say their vows.
Just a few nights ago, we strolled around in Paris taking a few romantic portraits of the soon to be Mr & Mrs. We waited until the sun goes down, so that's about 10:30 pm. Big applause for Win & Sera who made the photo session look so effortless, bearing the cold summer breeze at night. You always look great together :)

I’m always excited to do pre-wedding shoots. It’s like a ground for new experience, to test out new concepts and basically just have fun! Every so often during the first concept meeting, we’d be asked about what’s the best concept for a couple and we’d always encourage them to relive their stories or to do something that is “so uniquely you”. Do what reminds you of how you first met or how you fell in love. Or do something that describes who you are as a couple. There are couples more mellow than dramatic, more crazy wacky than romantic, more dark and edgy than sweet.
