love in beijing

A mix of 'Painted Veil' and Oriental elegance. Beijing is the perfect city to shoot it. Centuries old Palaces are intact, well preserved for the next generation to enjoy. We were speechless, in awe of the beautiful architecture and sceneries. For our curious readers, we shot these all over Beijing: Hou Hai Lake, Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), Summer Palace, Lama Temple, little alleys and also Aman Resort Beijing. This is definately a city we'll come back for more.

Beijing is a city full of surprises! Having heard a lot about it, i guess it's time to discover the city with my own eyes. I thought i could get away with my rusty mandarin, but to my surprise i get thrown out of the airport taxi for not being able to pronounce my hotel address right. That was funny! Next thing i found out that my hotel was near the Tiananmen Square. Having been to many big cities, this is the first city i've been that has 12 lanes in city center (plus bicycle lanes)! How cool is that?!

vancouver memories

During my college years in Seattle, Vancouver was my favorite weekend getaway. My typical day would start with Dim Sum in the Richmond area, then all day shopping in downtown and i made sure to have a full stomach before the drive back to Seattle. So i've been looking forward to come back to Vancouver, this time my camera's itching to shoot.

Vancouver means a lot more to Kollin & Yen. Their dating memories are filled with countless moments all over the city. It's obvious why we came all the way for their portrait session. It's worth the trip :)

William & Amel
Fairy tale romance

For those of you planning a wedding, it's a must to start with a clearly defined theme. That's exactly what William & Amel did. With a theme in mind, it's almost like half the battle. Everything will fall into place, the look & feel of your wedding including the decor, invitation, music and of course your wedding dress. They even took it a step further, having their pre-wedding photos to match the 'Fairy tale romance' inspired wedding.

Thanks to Nefi (the man behind inspiring wedding decorations in town) for introducing us to Amel. After a few meetings we found out that we shot for William's sister wedding a few years back...what a small world.

So on a nice sunny day, we headed up to Jakarta's mountain getaway (Puncak) area to find a charming garden to shoot for this concept. Enjoy ;)

This is without a doubt our couple of the year!

We attempted the challenging "50 First Dates" concept into their theme. Stories of their dates doing movies, dinners, walking int the park, lazing aroiund the weekends, grocery shopping, self-photos, lunches, playgrounds. We are madly in love with their photos! It really shows in every shot.

So very Axioo ;)

Vonny & Bradley

The past few weeks, we've gotten around doing shots that aren't your typical whacky Axioo couple.

We were ecstatic when we found out that Vonny and Bradley wanted to do a movie theme for their pre-wedding shots. Cinematic angles, and dramatic shots were the flavor of the day! We couldn't think of anything better than a "Mr & Mrs Smith" look. All that attitude, cigar and whisky.

We got Bradley to pose singing on the stage and he pulled it off perfectly! And Vonny is absolutely stunning!!!

Can't even begin to express how much we've fallen in love with these shots. Check 'em out! Our very own Mr & Mrs Smith! :D

Linda & Say Yong's Pre-Wedding

Here’s one of our most exciting shots to have come up in a while.

The couple is Linda and Say Yong. Long-time and great friends of Julia and Gilroy, another couple we’ve shot pre-wedding and wedding for.

We spent one day for these shots in Jakarta, so both had to fly in from Singapore just to make this happen!

We went for an elegant and oriental look. Not the typical wacky and crazy we’re so used to doing. So there’s no better place than to try out Shanghai Blue. Thanks to Tugu group for coming up with these authentic locations!

Linda, I know you’ll be seeing this as you fire up your browser. You guys were fantastic. Check these out!

Irene & Bambang

Hellooo!!! It's me Ivan again.

I'm now in Bangkok doing a little shopping =) In the midst of all this, thought I'd dig in to some of my previous work to see if I can post to the blog.

I found this photo clip of a couple I shot a few months ago (or maybe longer). Can't forget the fun & energy I had shooting for them in Bali.

Enjoy! ^^

Macau + Hongkong
Mike & Dyke

Hi Everyone!

Ivan here again on my second blog post. Still getting used to doing this.

This was a trip of mine to Macau and HongKong with one of the cutest couple I've shot, Mike and Dyke. We went to tons of locations. Amazing places like the Fisherman's wharf, Lisboa, Wyn's Casino, Disneyland and The Peak.

It was tons of fun hanging with these guys. With Mike around, we've never had the chance to go hungry. He's so into food, it's the first thing we look for on arrival at every location. And I'm not kidding! Dyke on the other hand is always pre-occupied with her blackberry. We dubbed her "BB girl" :)

They're so open to ideas and direction, if was so cool to compose different shots with them. Hope you enjoy these pics. And do give me some more feedback on my blogging. Hope I can grow in writing as time goes by. In the meantime, check out the shots!

Autumn in Sydney

What better time to visit Sydney than this? Last week we had the best time shooting for Shirley & Charles in Sydney. As always autumn colors are so fabulous to shoot.

It's worth driving two hours north of Sydney to Hunter Valley and getting these pictures. As we were shooting in the field near the vineyards, out of no where two Golden Retrievers came our way and decided to join in the fun. What a perfect day :)

Herry & Angel

There's a certain joy when it comes to photographing people you know from a long way back.Herry & Angel are one such couple. I've known them since my community college days in Edmonds, Washington USA. So happy to see them together finally.

We worked out a photo session in Singapore since they both work there. Herry is originally from Surabaya, and Angel from Jakarta.

As most of our friends do, they wanted to go with something light that's not too posed or serious. Locations such as the East Coast, Fort Canning Park and the Singapore River are fantastic places to play with. See if you agree.
