The Maternity Portraits of Janet & The Newborn Portraits of Adeline by Vania
Jan 2018

3 years ago, I met this strong petite woman. She treats everyone kindly. Her name is Janet. The first time I met her, she was expecting her first born. While getting her maternity portraits taken by me, she humbly shared a lot of her positive thoughts on her mother journey. Her positivity is inspiring. Her husband Alvin, was with her every step of the way. He, too, was very excited in his bubbly way! Since then, we met several times for different photoshoots– one for her first newborn son Jefferson, and later, their family pic.

Then, we met again last year for her second maternity pictures. They felt relieved when they knew it’s a girl, cause the family is complete (a dad, a mom, a son  & a daughter). A month later after the maternity shoot, I came back again to their house and met little newborn Adeline. She’s so adorable!

I’m very grateful and so thankful for their trust. They trust me on and off camera. They trust me when I held the baby for the first time. We met as clients and their photographer, but now we’re also friends.

I believe what’s behind the camera, the chemistry between the photographer and the clients are the most important thing, as it determines the meaning and the story behind the picture.

It’s not only about the photography skills. It’s about trust, communication, and passion.

3 Things For Squeezing in Some Mama-Time

Before you were a mom, you were a wife. And before you were a wife, you were you.

How to Say ‘No’ Without Saying No?

Let’s be real for a second. If you took the time to count how many times you tell your child “no” within the span of a day, you’d find it equivalent to the numbers of fingers on your hands or the number of hair on your head?
