When I was younger, I was given a single sentence of wisdom which I have carried through with me until today: “Do what you love, and you won’t have to work a day in your life.” Those words have stuck with me for ages and have influenced my career choices and what I do for a living. Photography has always been a passion of mine. But to live each doing that and hear about how people fall in love AND surround myself with happiness and happy people, well… that’s even beyond my wildest imaginations. I love what I do, and every day I encourage people to live each day doing what they love.
Now more about how people fall in love. That is probably the very essence of pre-wedding portraits. Most of the time we try to wrap concepts around the couple’s love story and try to come up with ideas to visualize it, to capture their memories and lay it out for the whole world to see. It’s not always easy, but when we do get it, it is absolutely rewarding, because we know that story would always be one of a kind.
I appreciate Anthony and Anya for the same thing in mind. Instead of going for the fancy locations and glamorous dresses, they made their story center-stage. So our concept surrounded their sweet moments together, moments that only they could understand, cute nicknames they had for each other, their goofiness, their silliness… everything that made them Anthony and Anya. Once they’ve unfolded their story, the rest of the planning was pretty much a piece of cake, and I am quite pleased about how it all turned out.
Anthony and Anya, I wish you sweet days in your journey together.
Cheers,
David
