Weddings are memorable for the couple that is getting married that day, we all know that. But what we often don’t realize is that weddings can be memorable for those who attended or took part in that day. Yohanes and Jessica’s wedding was such an event for me.
We arrived early at Jessica’s residence. We started as early as 4am! But we were all pumped up for the day. The excitement and warmth that we felt in that home was just so overwhelming that being sleepy was the last thing on our minds. The most memorable part of the whole wedding for me was the fact that despite the large venue and long guest list, the event felt intimate somehow. Yohanes and Jessica’s family were involved in a lot of social activities and many took part to contribute to the event. Choirs from the orphanage, songs from close relatives, mini skits from churches in which they were active… the event was so full of life, yet so warm like a family affair. It was amazing! And what touched my heart most was a clip that they showed during the reception, about an earlier celebration with widows and orphans in which Yohanes’s father said in a speech that “whatever happy occasion there is in my life, it is my greatest blessings that you all are there to share it with me.” What an amazing thought!
I’m sure this event is an unforgettable one for Yohanes and Jessica, but I sure am glad that I got to share it with them. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness to you!
Cheers,
Ivan
